What's a point between robots?

Playing the bridgez tournament rather distractedly, I picked up:
S
South
AQxxx
Qx
AQx
KJx

How many high-card points do I have?

For whatever reason, I thought I had 17 and opened it 1NT (15-17).  The bidding now went:
North
South
1NT
2
2
4
All Pass

This was the hand:

4H making 7 was not a good  board.  And all because I undercounted one measly Jack!  And it is not as if I needed that Jack to make 7 ...

  1. Did you have a way to redo it and see what would have happened with a different auction (a redo)?

    1. Good point. I was able to download the PBN file and replay in wbridge5. The right auction would have gone;

      1S - 2H
      3NT (18-19 points, balanced with 5 spades)

Now, the robot bids 4NT. The robot plays this as Blackwood, so the full auction:

      1S - 2H
      3NT - 4NT
      5H - 6S

West leads the Ace of clubs. Ruff and run the Jack of spades. Makes 13.

    2. The replay is a powerful feature. Thanks for your response to my question.

  2. Even without a re-do, transfer followed by 4M is usually a mild slam try. Surely you should evaluate and make a move (1hcp over a max, Qx of trump, 1st or 2nd round control in every side suit) ??

    1. The robot doesn't play Texas transfers, so it may not be a mild slam try. But you are right, I should reevaulate my maximum hand with a long, establishable side-suit and make a slam try.
